Germanium belongs to the first Ⅳ main group elements with the structure of the diamond. Germanium have excellent physical and chemical properties, its main applications in semiconductor materials, infrared optical materials, chemical catalyst, medical applications and other fields, especially used as a kind of excellent infrared optical material.
High purity germanium has a high refractive index and is high transparency to infrared radiation. It can not pass through visible and ultraviolet ray.
Germanium has excellent transmission across 2-14um waveband and can be used in both mid-wave infrared and long-wave infrared systems.

Application
Germanium Single crystal products include solar grade germanium single crystal, infrared grade germanium single crystal and detector grade germanium single crystal.
Infrared grade Germanium single crystal is most widely used infrared optical lens and infrared optical window which protect infrared optical lens in thermal-imaging systems.
60% of middle and low infrared optical lenses and 50% of high-end infrared optical lenses are made by Germanium single crystal. Germanium materials are widely used in infrared lenses.
Civil infrared window is mainly used in a variety of monitoring thermal imager, night assistance pilot. The civil domain mainly uses in the security, the civil vehicle, the civil vessel, the civil aircraft and so on.
