A shell completely made of oxidised or painted aluminium is the only real solution to guarantee a correct dissipation of the heat generated by the LED source.
Without this shell the LED would not dissipate the heat it produces, causing:
- a notable reduction of the LED’s lifespan
- loss of lighting performance efficiency
- possible yellowing of the plastic elements touching the LED
- overheating of the plastic component with consequent expansion and deformation of the panel itself
