54% of American Households Have at Least One Smart Home Device

Strategy Analytics released the latest report on smart home device at the same period as CES did. The report pointed that most American family now owned smart home device. According to the research a survey of 2642 respondents carried out by Strategy Analytics in Q4, 2019, 54% American family owned at least one smart home device, of which the most welcome one was smart speaker, interactive security system, and smart thermostat. Smart home households said the major reason they bought smart home product was they were easy to use and they made the households feel safer.

 

"After less than a decade of business development, smart home has broken through the critical point," said Bill Ablondi, director of smart home strategy at strategy analytics. Most people have bought smart home products, and smart home has become a common household in the United States. "

 

Jack Narcotta, senior analyst at strategy analytics, added: "our research shows that smart home products and services improve people's lives by removing some barriers related to home technology. When people can find value and convenience in intelligent technology, they are ready to invest, and suppliers who want to benefit from this fast-growing market need to focus on understanding and solving these pain points. "

 

In addition to the US, Strategy Analytics also looked at smart home adoption in France, Germany and the UK. At present, the adoption rate of smart home has reached 50% in the UK, 40% in Germany and 38% in France.
