Summary:A geothermal heat pump or ground source heat pump for heating and cooling

geothermal heat pump

A geothermal heat pump or ground source heat pump (GSHP) is a central heating and or cooling system that transfers heat to or from the ground.

The advantage of geothermal heat pump is, it uses the earth all the time, without any intermittency, as a heat source (in the winter) or a heat sink (in the summer).

While air source heat pump relies on the ambient air as heat source, that varies from a wide range, resulting in unstable COP result.

OSB sees the future of geothermal heat pump and one after another advanced inverter geothermal heat pump have come out, so far, we have 50 kw and 100 kw as heating capacity available for 3 phases, both 50Hz and 60Hz power.

Geothermal heat pump systems consist of the heat pump unit, the ground heat exchanger, and the air delivery system (ductwork). The heat exchanger has a system of pipes called a loop, which is buried in the ground near the building. Fluid will circulate within the heat exchanger system. The pump exchanger either takes the heat from the building and transfers it to the ground or absorbs the heat from the ground and uses it to warm the house. The main advantage of geothermal heat pumps is that they use the stable underground temperature to increase the efficiency and decrease the operational cost of the cooling and heating systems.

Our inverter range of geothermal heat pump use world well known Carol brand, RS 485 well supported as the heart-control. Same as OSB previous range of non-inverter geothermal or water source heat pump, our inverter range also have optional functions for heating, cooling and hot water depends on custom’s demand.

Up to now, OSB have developed wide range of geothermal heat pump from small 8KW heating capacity for residential usage to 100kw big capacity for commercial project.

All OSB geothermal heat pump range have no fans, hence low noise silent operation, noise free from neighbors. No air fin evaporator like air source heat pump, free from frosting, no worries even for Nordic cold climate!

Market analysts forecast the global geothermal heat pump market to grow at a CAGR of 12.04% during the period 2017-2023.
