We’ve been carrying on trusty cooperation relationship with each other for years. And Giant Hope has been supplying them with cardboard phone cases with blister packaging for years.
Recently, they plan to launch new Iphone and Google phone cases projects but they have burden much cost down pressure from the market. So they have to find out an improved solution to replace current cardboard phone case packaging.
At first of the project start-up stage, they passed down below requests to our new packaging:
1. To use replaced biodegradable and recyclable materials instead of current greybeard case frame;
2. To make the packaging that are used and loved for as long as possible;
3. To reduce waste and energy consumption throughout the entire process.
Then as follow, we had been discussing on the strategic solutions back and forward: how to make the design looked perfect and fitted for each phone case. We’ve been searching in the market for various case materials and finally decided to use some kind of cane pulp moulded in case shape, which is eco-friendly material with lower cost.
However, this is a big challenge for smooth die-cutting in shape structure and especially color matching in the pulp industry. At the first sampling stage, we made several round samples by the supplier but actually Bellroy didn’t satisfy with them at all since they even can’t understand why the color can’t match to the print color tone we did before. We once want to give it up but thanks to the trust in deep between us, Bellroy and Giant Hope still keep striking for a mutual solution which can be accepted and reached for both parties.
We’ve made several phone conference meetings and we also met with each other face-to-face for several times, discussing about the difficulties we’ve both encountered and what’s the best we both could achieve.
Finally, the phone case packaging design has been fixed, including the dimensions, tray fitting, blister and pulp case. Production has been starting for market now.
This case not only involves with simple phone case packaging, but most importantly, it reflects our strong attitudes towards our enthusiasm on product creativity. We are proud to make the product into reality and assist our client on their brand product!
