Every country in the world usually holds corresponding celebrations. However, not all countries have designated May 1st as Labor Day, and the specific ways and customs of celebrating May 1st differ greatly from those of other countries.
Russia:
There are many parades, gatherings and entertainments. Since the establishment of Labor Day in the world, Russia has always attached great importance to this special festival. On May 1st, Russia has a national holiday and holds various celebrations and mass marches.
Italy:
No celebration, no vacation.
Britain, France and other European countries have designated May Day as Labor Day. Many countries have one day off, while others have public holidays on the first Monday of May. However, unlike most countries in the world, Italy does not hold special celebrations or national May Day holidays, although it recognizes the International Labor Day and the government shows respect for workers.
Peru:
The state stipulates May 1 as the National Labor Day, and the whole country has a day off.
America:
Labor Day originated in the United State, but May day not originated in the United States.
Japan:
Labor Day falls on “Golden Week”, Japan is a country with many festivals, such as Arbor Day, Constitutional Day, National Holiday and so on.
For the working class, the significance of this long vacation is really extraordinary. Therefore, in Japan, the special celebration of Labor Day is gradually replaced by Golden Week. And since April 29th, Japan has started the Golden Week.
A lot of hotels, hot springs and other entertainment facilities throughout Japan have advertised for tourists before May Day, and the room prices of ordinary hotels have more than doubled.
Thailand:
Thailand fist promulgated the Labor Regulations in 1932, and then established May 1st as the National Labor Day to reward hear-working workers. On this day, Thailand will have a unified national holiday, and there will be related celebrations in the capital and some big cities, but the scale is generally not too large.
Egypt:
May 1st, known as Labor Day, is considered a paid holiday. Traditionally, the president of Egypt presided over official May Day celebrations in Cairo.
South Africa:
In South Africa, public holidays on May 1st each year since 1994.
