India Will Allocate 5g Frequency Band Test for Telecom Operators

India's Ministry of communication and information technology said in a statement recently that it will allocate frequency bands for all telecom operators in the Indian market for 5g network testing, but it may take several years to fully promote 5g network in India.

 

India's Ministry of communication and information technology also convened a meeting of telecom operators and equipment manufacturers to determine the test time. The Ministry of communication and information technology of India requires all test participants to submit applications within the next 10 days, and the final test will be completed within the next 6 months.

 

The day before, India's minister of communication and information technology Prasad also announced the news while attending the event. Indian media said the decision means that Chinese telecom equipment manufacturers will be allowed to participate in 5g network testing in India.

 

According to statistics, India currently has more than 600 million Internet users. At the end of 2018, the association of the Internet and mobile communication industry of India issued a report predicting that by 2022, the number of Internet users in India is expected to increase to 762 million, and the number of smartphone users will reach 526 million.
