According to ZDNet, the foreign media, Microsoft announced that the company's internal structure is undergoing major adjustment. The chief product officer of Microsoft, Panos Panay, will lead the windows experiences group and the hardware group. The new group is called hardware + windows group, which means that Panos Panay will take over the entire windows operating system business. This decision will take effect on February 25.

In the past few years, chief product officer Panos Panay has been the spokesman of the surface hardware department. After the personnel adjustment, he will be responsible for the design, function and other responsibilities of the windows operating system, and report to executive vice president jalajie.

Currently, Jason Jander, another executive vice president of Microsoft, is in charge of the work of Windows operating system.

In the fourth quarter of last year, the hardware business accounted for about 6% of Microsoft's total revenue. Windows, by contrast, accounts for 15% of the company's revenue.

Panos Panay joined Microsoft in 2004 and has been working on hardware for more than ten

years. He spoke at a hardware conference in 2012, when CEO Steve Ballmer showed off the first generation of surface tablets.

In the past few years, Microsoft has been designing windows, office and surface to ensure that new surface products can be compatible with operating systems and office applications. So, in some ways, the role of Panos Panay is changing.

ZDNet also introduces some interesting background stories after the reorganization. At the end of last year, there was a rumor that Panay might be looking for new positions inside or outside Microsoft, or even job hopping.

In addition, Microsoft's white-collar social network LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner announced his resignation. He plans to resign from the position on June 1 and become the executive chairman of the company. Ryan Ruslansky, senior vice president of LinkedIn products, will replace Weiner as CEO of the Microsoft company. This is the biggest leadership change since Jeff Weiner took over LinkedIn more than 10 years ago.
