On January 5, 2019, LED Standards Alliance of Shenzhen officially released the "Off-Grid Solar LED Street Lighting Technical Specification" which is the first alliance standard for LED solar lighting industry. The Specification includes SZTT/LSA 025.1-2019 "General Specifications" and SZTT/LSA 025.2-2019 "Light Pole and Installation Technical Specifications", which are jointly drafted by Shenzhen Socreat Electronics Technology Limited (Road Smart team), Shenzhen Academy of Metrology & Quality Inspection, Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen, Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology, National Semiconductor Lighting Product Supervision & Inspection Center, and Guangdong Nanyue Quality and Technology Research Institute.
The “General Specifications” applies to off-grid solar LED street lights which are usually used for road lighting and outdoor public lighting. This standard specifies the definition, classification, technical requirements, inspection methods of off-grid solar LED street lamps and related requirements for marking, packaging, transportation and storage. Similarly, "Light Pole and Installation Technical Specifications" stipulates the definition, classification, technical requirements, inspection methods of light poles and propose requirements for marking, packaging, transportation, storage and installation. The “Specification” lays the foundation for healthy development of solar street lamp industry and provide practical protection for users. Its promulgation and implementation will promote the development of solar LED street lamp industry in the direction of "standardization" and "quality", and provide evaluation basis for the quality inspection of solar LED street lamps, ensuring long-term safe and stable operation of these solar products.
The development of industry requires standards, and industry should be regulated by standards. It is well known that solar energy street lamp industry lacks standards, and the products quality is uneven, which greatly hold back industrial development. It is urgent to improve solar lights quality through standardized channels. On the first day of company established, Road Smart team gave quality a super top priority.
