Southern Linc has chosen NASDAQ (ERIC) to provide the next generation of mission critical on the fly (mcptt) communications equipment for its utilities, first aid clients and public sector entities, as well as businesses that need highly reliable communications, designed to work in the most demanding situations.

Tami Barron, President and CEO of Southern Linc, said: "when the first responder enters the scene, the key is seconds, while reliable communication may be a matter of life and death. Ericsson has always been our trusted partner, providing our customers with a reliable one touch service to help those who are committed to protecting and serving others. " Ericsson's group radio deployed mcptt on the LTE network of Southern Linc to provide customers with a comprehensive and reliable solution. Group radio's mcptt will have the multicast function based on embms to support large conversation groups in a limited geographical area, as well as comprehensive user and service management functions to promote the controlled group communication within and between large end-user organizations.

Mcptt is a key component of LTE network and an important supplement to the existing land mobile radio. In order to meet the requirements of critical tasks, mcptt group broadcasting is one of the cornerstones of Ericsson's overall end-to-end critical task communication products.

Rob Johnson, head of Ericsson's North American regional operator customer department, said: "one click communication is an important part of Ericsson's product portfolio, demonstrating our commitment to those who are committed to protecting our security. As a trusted partner of global operators and governments, our technology ensures that mobile network services are prioritized at critical times. " As the sole provider of LTE (long term evolution) / EPC (packet core of evolution), IMS (IP multimedia subsystem), embms (multimedia broadcast multicast service) and 4G ran (radio access network) of Southern Linc, Ericsson will be able to provide the best end-to-end mission critical one touch service for Southern Linc. Ericsson's reliable record and ability to provide "one-stop service" for mission critical communication solutions are important criteria for awarding mcptt awards. The contract includes a mcptt solution that will evolve over time to accommodate new features, including the eventual transition to 5g networks.
