As we all know, the main reason for global warming is because carbon emissions are increasing, and the average temperature of the earth in the 20th century has risen by 1 degree Celsius. This 1 degree Celsius does not seem to surprise you, but in fact, the earth's subtle average temperature changes can also cause huge environmental changes, including: longer droughts, more frequent wildfires and more severe tropical storms. In all energy generation, solar power brings the least amount of carbon emissions. To protect the global environment, carbon emissions need to be controlled. This means that in the future, more people need to embrace clean low-carbon green energy. So far, solar energy is the most promising green renewable resources.
At present, the main reason for the lack of large-scale implementation of solar power generation is still its high cost. The US government is striving to promote solar energy, and only 0.45% of its electricity is generated from solar power.
However, according to a study by Fraunhofer ISE (Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems), solar energy will be one of the most cost-effective sources of energy. By applying state-of-the-art technology, the power cost of using solar power is much cheaper than those of using coal and natural gas in some sunny areas. For example, in Dubai, the parties signed a long-term contract to buy solar power on the price of 5 cents per kWh. Production costs for the similar projects underway in countries such as Uruguay and Brazil are less than 7 cents per kWh
A common misconception remains that the cost of hardware hampers the widespread implementation of solar energy. In fact, solar hardware prices have fallen sharply due to production and technological advances. As companies continue to expand the scale of production, the cost of solar panels and related hardware will be further reduced.
Many people have also neglected the entrepreneurial opportunities brought by the solar industry and the state's tax cuts, which can allow more funds for technology research and development. A large number of tax deductions and discounts can minimize the upfront cost of solar energy. Similarly, the emerging solar sector continues to create thousands of jobs to support the economy. In fact, the Solar Energy Foundation estimates that the solar industry creates a large amount of jobs that are almost 20 times faster than the US economy.
