One of chinese most important festivals is approaching, which calls Mid-Autumn Festival, the August 15th on lunar calendar(4th, October, 2017). Our company, Maker Cosmetic Packaging Material Co.,Ltd, who specialized with various kinds of plastic PET bottles, PE bottles, PETG bottles, etc, will be on holiday from 1st October to 8th October.

It is also the reunion festival like the Spring Festival. All the family members will go back home, dine and enjoy the glorious full moon together. People will eat various kinds of mooncakes at that time.

It is a time for family members and loved ones to congregate and enjoy the full moon - an auspicious symbol of abundance, harmony and luck. Adults will usually indulge in fragrant moon cakes of many varieties with a good cup of piping hot Chinese tea, while the little ones run around with their brightly-lit lanterns. "Zhong Qiu Jie" probably began as a harvest festival. The festival was later given a mythological flavour with legends of Chang-E, the beautiful lady in the moon.

There is also an interesting story about this festival. Once upon a time, there were 10 Suns in the sky, the crops were basked to die, people lived in misery. A hero name Hou Yi, mighty, who shoot down nine of the Suns and rescued all the people. The queen mother awarded the elixir to him for it. He asked his wife Change to keep it. One day when he went out, a bad guy came and forced Change to hand over the elixir. Change had no choice but to swallow it. Whereafter, she flied to the sky. As she worried about her husband, the moon which is nearest to earth was chosen as her home, and she became immortal. Hou Yi also missed his wife very much. Every year on the same day(the August 15th on lunar calendar), he always put her favorite fresh fruit or honey on the censer table, to sacrifice her. This is the origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival in advance! And welcome to come to China to taste mooncakes. Here attached some pictures of Change and mooncakes. ^^
