T-Mobile and Sprint Urge the Court to Approve the Deal: It Will Reduce Service Prices

According to foreign media reports, a number of states sued Wednesday to prevent the merger of T-Mobile and Sprint, saying the deal would raise fees for consumers, they told a federal judge. In response to the charges, T-Mobile and sprint said they would compete aggressively to reduce service prices.

States sued in June to block the merger, saying the deal would harm American consumers, especially low-income people.

T-Mobile and Sprint, on the other hand, believe that after the merger, they will be able to compete more effectively with the dominant companies in the market, such as Verizon and At & T, which will help drive down service prices.

Judge Victor Marrero, who is in charge of the case, heard the case closed Wednesday. The judge asked no questions to either side and said he would make a decision "as soon as possible.".

Glenn Pmerantz, a lawyer representing the States, said the merger of T-Mobile and sprint would affect at least 130 million consumers, as it would change the number of major U.S. mobile operators from four to three.
