Their products are absolutely premium, they just have one problem...they are expensive. Look, nice things cost money, and while the majority of this list is targeted towards the average consumer, I just had to throw this in for the Porsche lovers out there.
The reason they are so expensive is because they are mini-split systems, meaning that instead of one central heating and air conditioning system, you have a different system for each room. While this isn’t the ‘Merican way of doing things, this is how the Europeans and Japanese do it.
Mitsubishi Electric heat pumps also feature a unique take to their units, which includes a Flash-Injection Bypass Circuit, meaning their heat pumps work efficienctly at lower temperatures, and aren't as susceptible to low temperature issues as normal heat pumps.

Next on the list of our top 10 heat pump brands is Bryant. Made by the same company that brought you names like Carrier, Bryant heat pumps provide a reliable product with decent customer service. The only drawback on Bryant heat pumps is the price.
While they are not as expensive as Carrier itself, their technology is offered in the name Day & Night for significantly less. But Day & Night is not offered everywhere, unfortunately, so this would be your next best bet to get Carrier technology on discount.
6. Carrier Heat Pumps
Next - sigh - on our list of the best heat pump brands is the company that started it all, Carrier heat pumps. Carrier invented the original air conditioner in 1902, and as such has earned a place on our list.
Look, their technology is terrific and they are reliable...but they are pricey. I just have a hard time recommending them at the top of our list when their technology is offered in other heat pump brands at a fraction of the price. But some of you like using the name brand because you feel more comfortable...
7. Trane Heat Pumps
Trane heat pumps are next on our list of the top 10 heat pump brands. They are better known to us in the commercial sector, but they do offer heat pumps in the residential sector as well. They are sturdy and reliable, with good customer service. They are, again, on the pricey side in my not-so-humble opinion, but they are good. As their slogan goes, “it’s hard to stop a Trane.”
