Pin Header connector is one of the PCB connectors that are used to transfer signals or power from one PCB to another, or to or from the PCB from another source in the equipment build.
Pin header connectors comprise several different means of connection. One side is a series of pin which are soldered to a PCB board, and they can either be at a right-angle to the PCB surface or parallel to the board’s surface. The former is usually called straight pin header, while the latter might be confusingly referred to as a right-angle pin header.
The difference in pin header is their variety pitches and their number of individual rows of pin. And they have two versions, which are male and female pin headers. 2.54mm (0.1’’) pitch pin header is one of the standard versions and it is shown in the following picture.
Pin headers are widely used in computer, lightening equipment, industrial machinery, aeronautical facility, etc.
They may be small, but they work a lot.
