The quality:
Country Floors cement tiles are 5/8″ in thickness, and more than half of it is the fine cement part. This process makes our tiles a much better quality. Besides, our tiles use real fine color dyes so that colors are much more deep and exciting. We use different types and sizes of chips if the design is more country. These tiles have more of a terrazzo look to them, and they create a better aesthetic.
Finally, we polish or hone our tiles In an automatic polishing line so that surface is very smooth and superior.
Country Floors carries a fantastic selection of garden cement tiles. We have plain colors as well as traditional patterns. In our opinion, they look the best with conventional European tile patterns. Vibrant colors contribute to extraordinary design environments.
Cement tiles are used in residential and commercial tiling applications. For residential purposes, you can use them in apartment entryways like in Old Barcelona buildings or inside kitchens. They are thicker than typical tiles and may have limited use in narrow wall installations.
For commercial applications, you can use them in restaurants, commercial kitchens, Bars, and many other hotels.
Cement tile limitations:
Cement tiles are relatively absorbent, and it must be sealed with multiple coats of a good sealer like Fila. Traditional cement tiles were not honed. The traditional method of installing these was hand polishing them after installation. These tiles came with a 1/8″ thick cement residue built on top of the tile. Installers had to polish or hone these tiles on site. This was a difficult process and created all kinds of problems.
It will absorb the sealant fast, and you may have to do it multiple times. They can stain, and you have to keep that in mind. These tiles have a natural patina to it. It will show wear and tear more naturally than many other tiles of similar limitations.
Classical tile patterns like floral tile patterns or Moroccan tile patterns come in multiple colors of red and green. You can also customize these with colors of your choosing.
Another late trend has been using these patterns in random colors. With random color patterns, you can achieve a patchwork tile look.
