What is IMD?

IMD is the abbreviation of “ In-Mould-Decoration”, it is a craft of putting a printed PET material to the mould for injection molding.The IMD phone case can be divided into 3 layers generally, the above PET hard coating layer, the middle printed design layer and the bottom TPU or PC material layer. After the injection molding is finished, the three layers melt into one. The wearable PET hard coating is the outermost layer. Its pattern is high clear, meanwhile it can prevent the printing ink from harming the users, it’s very environment friendly,also it’s wearable and scratch resistant.

IMD production process:

PET material-----print the design on PET-----cover transparent hard coating----adhesive----drying----handli mng the PET----shape the PET----putting the PET in the mould for injectionolding ----opening the holes of camera,speaker etc.----handling the deckle edge-packaging
