Since the number of I/O ports of MCU is limited, if the I/O port of MCU is directly used to drive lcd1602/2004, it will occupy more I/O port resources and not conducive to connecting more other devices. IIC lcd1602/2004 adapter board can greatly reduce the need for IO interface. The original 1602/2004 screen requires 7 IO ports (RS, RW, E, d4-d7) to drive it. This module can save 5 IO ports.

The module adopts PCF8574, which enables most MCU to realize remote I/O port extension through two bidirectional buses (I2C).The device includes an 8-bit quasi-bidirectional port and an I2C bus interface.PCF8574 current consumption is very low, and the port output latch has the ability of large current drive, can drive the LED directly. It also comes with an interrupt line (INT leak output) that can be connected to the interrupt logic of the MCU.Sending an interrupt signal via INT, The remote I/O port does not have to communicate with the I2C bus to inform the MCU whether there is data input from the port.
