If you're looking for tri - pack lenses of better grade for pro use then don't stop here or cut corners. The UV filter is fine for protecting your lens & that's what I bought them for. All fit great to my 18-200mm Nikon VR & although I will only experiment with the CPL & FLD filters the UV is what will stay on my lens.

This set of three filters is less expensive than any one of the filters (or similar filters) from other vendors. On top of that, the set came with a cool little protective case. The polarizing filter does exactly what it should, and is great for cutting out the glare in clear skies or unwanted reflections off of water or other shiny surfaces.

UV:

Reduce haze and improve contrast to your video and digital images by minimizing the amount of -ultraviolet light.

Especially useful in areas of high altitude, snow, or beach, eliminating the undesirable blue cast.
